Better late than never

Did you hear the one about the fledgling business owner who was too busy to put beautiful photos up of her gorgeous family on holiday for almost two months? But with the Christmas rush behind me I feel like I am emerging from the fog, so FINALLY I can pop up some photos from our trip to Peregian at the beginning of November. As you can see we had a fabulous time and had a ball spending time as our little family of four. Enjoy.  And next post?  Christmas photos!!!

A little bit Christmassy

It is December.  How did that happen? But in keeping with tradition we put our Christmas tree up yesterday and we had these two little munchkins to help us.  Although they weren't really that helpful and actually seemed hell bent on destroying the tree before we got it finished! The tree looks beautiful.  But not in the traditional sense.  In fact there are clashing silver and gold baubles, blue baubles and red tinsel.  Gone are the well co-ordinated trees of my Christmas's past.  Now we have a tree that is a thing of beauty simply because some little people helped put it up.  I think it actually needs even more tacky decorations and some homemade Christmas craft ones too. But the tree must have looked appealing to someone because when we came out this morning there was the most beautiful little red door just next to the tree. On top of the door were some chocolate santas and a tiny little letter from Santa.  Basically the...

In the swim

A real blog escapes me at the moment. I really need to wade through the 2 + gb of photos I took on our holiday and put them up for you all. But instead I find myself printing and curing t-shirts until 11pm each night. Then I crash into bed for some much needed zzzzz's until 5ish when Ol likes to wake up (and lately there seems to be a middle of the night wake up by him too!). Needless to say I am exhausted. So this is all you get for now. But I had to tell you that Eve started swimming this week. I found it a little sad that Nick couldn't be there and poor Eve missed out on all the fanfare that surrounded Ol's first swimming lesson. In fact the only documented evidence of the occasion is this terrible photo taken on my phone. Poor second child. Perhaps it is best that she wasn't being recorded for posterity though as she cried nearly the entire lesson. She clearly wasn't a fan! But we will persevere. Not just because she needs to learn to swim but also be...

Holidays, not interrupted

So we are on holidays. And it is just bliss. Just over a week ago we rocked up to our happy place, p-ridge, or peregian to those not in the know. Since then we have eaten, drank, slept, played, scootered and just generally had a great time. So great that we decided to stay for a few days more. Ah, holidays! So enjoy a few visual snippets from the last week...

Halloween

Things got a bit spooky around here with the local halloween festival on the weekend.  We had really been looking forward to it for quite a while but unfortunately it looked like it would be a fairly soggy event.  But as they say, the show must go on. We had Pa and Nanna Kaye staying here at the time so they got to witness the cuteness that was not only our two little spooksters but a bunch of Ollie's friends who also joined us. Ol, at his request, was a robot.  We may have been calling him a "gay robot" (think c3po) behind his back thanks to the particularly  shiny stretchy material I made his costume out of along with the presence of glow sticks.  But he certainly didn't seem to mind and all the time spent cursing the annoying material while at the sewing machine was completely worth it. Little Miss Eve's costume on the other hand took about an hour to make and cost around about $3.50 for a little bit of white material. The rest I had lying around inc...

Happy little campers!

We went camping.  Five couples, five toddlers and four babies.  What the heck were we thinking? Well truth be told it wasn't really camping.  More like glamping.  We stayed in four safari tents and one tent site all in a little cul de sac.  There was a big communal area with a fire pit just close to our tent where everyone gathered.  The kids wandered around as if they owned the place but thankfully managed to avoid getting lost, burned, etc. Occasionally the children all stayed still.  Occasionally. Check out Evie Peevey's cool boots.  Ol's country cousins gave these to him when he was little but because he had such big feet he grew out of them before he walked so they never really got used for anything other than to look cute.  Thankfully Eve gave them a right proper wearing over the weekend and just looked super gorgeous wearing boots and leggings the whole time. We also busted out our baby backpack that we took Ol t...
