Brought to you by the letter "O"

Apologies for the incredibly late blog this week. I have been having some technical difficulties uploading photos.

I've also been incredibly busy printing millions (well a few at least) t-shirts in preparation for our first big market on 19 November. So because I have been busy I decided that this week's blog can be brought to you by none other than the Olliebear. How you ask? Well last week Ollie discovered our point and shoot camera, which thankfully is one of those awesome ones you can throw at a rock underwater and it will still work. So O has been having a great time toting the camera around with him and taking some lovely little pics. So here we have the world through Ollie's eyes...

The top photo is of his and my shadow at the beach. This is a personal fave of mine. Nice composition, even a bit of a dutch tilt going on!

This one is of "rainbows" on the floor. The rainbows are the sun shining through the crystals on my candelabra. You can also see a bit of baby spew on the floor. Gross. I love Ollie's little feet in the photo, along with his smudgy finger on the lens. This has become a bit of a trademark of his photos. Love it.

Smudgy finger again and baby Evie on her playmat. Note the super gorgeous cute pink dress? Our friend Kate gave it to Evie so we trotted in out for the first time when she and Cosmo came over on the weekend. How cute does she look in it? (Even upside down).

And a 'self-take' photo. What self-respecting Dower wouldn't know how to take a good 'self-take'? Anyone present at our wedding would have seen his father bust out the best self take of all time when we were announced man and wife. Awesome pic.

And since it is a super short blog I thought I'd have to console you with one of Evie's totally gorgeous smiles. Miss Evie turned 12 weeks yesterday which is the biggest milestone so far. It is the magical figure you hold out for through those bleary first three months as it seems to be when their little tummies magically get big enough to sleep longer. Not that I can complain. With Nick feeding her around 10ish, I get about 11 hours off from feeding her each night. That would be an impressive stretch of sleep for me if I didn't have so much other stuff to do. Now, back to printing those t-shirts...

Food, friends and footy.

This week Ollie and I had a special visitor all the way from Cloncurry - our friend Jesse. Jesse came to play at Camp Ollie for a few hours while his mum had some very well deserved shopping time. Ollie and Jesse played lots of fun games like cups and Jesse was very helpful to me during the afternoon. Another exciting event this week was Nick and my third wedding anniversary. To celebrate we went to the lovely E'cco restaurant on Saturday night, thanks to Aunty Em who stayed over at our place to look after Ollie. Thankfully Ollie was on his best behaviour, as opposed to some of the other nights recently that have seen me popping into his room a number of times in the early hours of the morning. Ollie got to see his Aunty Em again the next day when we went over to the McNaughton/Dower home to celebrate Aunty Hayley's birthday and to catch up with Uncle Luke. Hayley cooked the wonderful family birthday tradition of Flat Meat (hard to describe but kind of like a thinner sc...

Movieworld!

I told you last week that we had been busy having lots of fun around here and another of our fun activities (this time while Nanna Freddy was here) was a trip to Movieworld. But as I'm currently heat pressing fifty odd t-shirts for this weekend's big market, I am only able to make it to the computer in 40 second stints.  It isn't that I'm worried about scorching the shirts, but the heat press has this dreadful tinky asian sounding song as the alarm on the timer and it really grates on my soul!  And as I'm sure you can agree that there isn't a whole lot I can write in the time it takes me to run between the computer and the press (this paragraph has taken me five t-shirts!), this blog is going to be mainly pictures. Ol loved the characters. But not as much as the rides.  He went on about 16.  Seriously. He wasn't a fan of the car driving ones as he just couldn't make them work properly.  His dodgem effort was basically just driving aro...

Cos we are living in a material world...

It has been a week of new purchases in the Dower household. As Ollie is nearing the six month mark when he will start eating solids (or mushies as they should really be called), we thought it was time to get ourselves a highchair. You'd be surprised at how many different kinds you can get and after lots of research I worked out exactly which one I wanted. So of course, that was the one that had just been discontinued!! Anyway, we bought a similar one and it got delivered to our house ... in pieces. I couldn't wait for Nick to come home to put it together so I gave it a crack and after managing to find a screwdriver (the most challenging part of the process) I successfully negotiated the instructions until the object before me resembled the one on the box. Ollie and I both held our breath the first time I put him in it, but it held his weight (not an insignificant amount). Ollie seems to like his highchair for reasonable periods of time and I have found it a godsend as it en...
