Not long now

Christmas is a matter of days away now and the Christmas related activities have gone into overdrive. Last week we had Ollie's daycare party which even Nick came along to. Thankfully too because it seemed like every parent was there. Except for a couple of kids, who seemed to spend the whole time crying because their parents weren't there. Heartbreaking. But moving on... There were Christmas activities to be done, songs to be sung and lots of sugar to be consumed. Ol basically sat himself at one end of the table and grazed his way through every disgustingly sugary treat until he was the last kid standing at the table. I never would have allowed such food to be consumed but as it was a daycare day I knew I'd be leaving just before nap time and the teachers would have to deal with the carnage. Awful I know. They got their own back though by feeding them sugary leftovers for afternoon tea before we all came to pick them up. Checkmate. The pic above is of Ollie, his

Giddy up cowboy

Yesterday saw the beginning of the Christmas parties in our world, but unlike the boozy inappropriate Christmas parties of years gone by, this was a nice family friendly break up for our playgroup. It took place at a local farm and saw the kiddos have a wild time riding ponies as well as brushing them and feeding them hay. Basically awesome. Very proud indeed. How beautiful is my family? I am one lucky lady. But who is that masked boy? And I definitely had to include this one of Evie. Every time I look at it she reminds me of someone... In other Christmas news, we went up to Kmart the other day to put our presents under the wishing tree. We have started a tradition with the kids where each year they will donate a present to a little boy/girl the same age as them. Ollie has rea

Its beginning to look a lot like Christmas

Well it is officially December now so there is no more denying that Christmas is just around the corner. We actually started to embrace Christmas a few weeks ago when shopping with Nanna Freddy. We thought that we'd just have a look at where Santa was going to sit, but it turned out he was already sitting there - in November! Since the kiddos looked cute and there was no line, it was too good an opportunity to turn down. Ollie was in much better form than last year and wasn't scared at all. End result? A pretty good pic. Even if neither of them are looking at the camera. Better than hysterical screaming. We put the Christmas tree up on the weekend. The big question was whether the tree needed to behind bars in Christmas tree jail or would Ollie be able to avoid the temptation to pull all the decorations off. Nick gave him more credit than I would have so no bars it was. We will definitely need them next year with Evie so it is nice to have a prettier looking tree this
