A bear-y cute boy

Check out Ollie bear - literally!!

We came across this great company called mymakebelieve.com.au that sells the most gorgeous costumes for babies and kids. We originally planned to get just one for our friend Audrey's first birthday present but we couldn't resist getting one for our very own Ollie bear. It is completely impractical but I think you would have to agree that he looks completely adorable in it. I can't wait for Halloween but we will have to find a few more excuses to dress him up in it before then. The bunny costume for Audrey is equally as adorable, although she wasn't too sure about it at first, but when she looked in the mirror she saw how gorgeous she looked.

As the weather was so nice today we took Ollie to the local footy club to watch a game. Ollie wore his Cats jumpsuit so he looked the part, but he wasn't really into it and slept through most of the time we were there. We had to cut short our trip as the Cats were playing at home and Ollie wanted to make sure we didn't miss a second of them thumping Essendon mercilessly (sorry Kaye, I couldn't resist!).
In Ollie developments, he has totally discovered his feet of late. He loves to check them out and you can see his mind ticking over, trying to figure out how he can possibly jam them into his mouth. Sometimes I help him bring them closer to his face and he just grabs whatever clothing he is wearing at the time and uses that to try and pull his foot into his mouth. Some of the slightly older babies in our baby group are already advanced in this technique and look like they have a great time sucking on their feet so I can't imagine it will be long before Ollie has this new trick down pat.
He has also become a massive drool monster. I'm not sure if this is an indication that he will be teething soon or just par for the course, but he seems to permanently have at least one, sometimes two, fists wedged firmly into his mouth and bucketloads of drool pouring out. He had a bib on the other day and after about an hour we had to take it off as he had managed to absolutely soak it with drool. Totally gross. He also applies this drool factory to toys including poor bunny who is getting totally soaked.

I've also included a picture I took of my new method that allows me to get the laundry done when Ollie is awake. Not overly practical, but sometimes it just has to be done.

Food, friends and footy.

This week Ollie and I had a special visitor all the way from Cloncurry - our friend Jesse. Jesse came to play at Camp Ollie for a few hours while his mum had some very well deserved shopping time. Ollie and Jesse played lots of fun games like cups and Jesse was very helpful to me during the afternoon. Another exciting event this week was Nick and my third wedding anniversary. To celebrate we went to the lovely E'cco restaurant on Saturday night, thanks to Aunty Em who stayed over at our place to look after Ollie. Thankfully Ollie was on his best behaviour, as opposed to some of the other nights recently that have seen me popping into his room a number of times in the early hours of the morning. Ollie got to see his Aunty Em again the next day when we went over to the McNaughton/Dower home to celebrate Aunty Hayley's birthday and to catch up with Uncle Luke. Hayley cooked the wonderful family birthday tradition of Flat Meat (hard to describe but kind of like a thinner sc...

Movieworld!

I told you last week that we had been busy having lots of fun around here and another of our fun activities (this time while Nanna Freddy was here) was a trip to Movieworld. But as I'm currently heat pressing fifty odd t-shirts for this weekend's big market, I am only able to make it to the computer in 40 second stints.  It isn't that I'm worried about scorching the shirts, but the heat press has this dreadful tinky asian sounding song as the alarm on the timer and it really grates on my soul!  And as I'm sure you can agree that there isn't a whole lot I can write in the time it takes me to run between the computer and the press (this paragraph has taken me five t-shirts!), this blog is going to be mainly pictures. Ol loved the characters. But not as much as the rides.  He went on about 16.  Seriously. He wasn't a fan of the car driving ones as he just couldn't make them work properly.  His dodgem effort was basically just driving aro...

Eve is 10: the birthday blog

Double digits?? Say what?!?!?! Did I blink and miss the last decade of you being in my life? The little girl who came along and tipped my world it on it's head.  The little tornado of sweetness and light, chaos and bonkers, all wrapped into one perfect little human. To make sure I always remember you as you become a tween, here are some of the things about you that are special: - ABBA - I'm not sure where this obsession came from but you cannot get enough of them.  You have our spotify account jumping from one ABBA song to the next all day long.  Mamma Mia 1 and 2 (who knew there was a second one??) are your absolute favourite movies and you talk about the characters life you've known them for years. - You are doing an amazing job of music at school.  You are in your second year of fife and have joined the senior fife band where you had to memorise all of the songs so you could march in formation for your performances.  Your fife is usually not too far fr...
