As winter is upon us the weather has turned rather chilly but the skies are still beautiful and blue so it is perfect park weather. Ollie is a huge fan of the park, with his two favourites being the swings and the slippery slide. He can actually go down the slide all by himself. It is very impressive and just a tiny bit terrifying.
Since the weather today was so delightful we took the opportunity to go to the park at the end of the street altogether. It also gave me a chance to take some nice pics of my boys hanging out.
In an update about our new fish, all of them are still with us which is as big a surprise to me as anyone. We actually even added five teeny tiny little fish (known as “the back up dancers”) to the mix. The problem is that these guys are extreme sports enthusiast and spend most of their time around the outlet to the filter riding the current. But they occasionally get caught in the little whirlpool and twice now they have been sucked into the filter. It has just been dumb luck that has caused me to notice that one is missing and on each occasion I’ve found them in the filter box gasping for air. Needless to say I am prepared to find us down a backup dancer or two in the coming days. But most importantly of all, Ollie is loving them. He wants to come out and see them first thing in the morning and they have become part of our nightly ritual, with Ollie kissing the glass on his way into bed. We definitely love our fish.
Obear becomes more independent every day. He loves to eat his food by himself which is great as it allows me to do stuff while he is eating (like checking emails and facebooking). It is not so good in terms of the clean up but that is part of life. Here is Obear eating his yoghurt. As you can see, it isn’t a coincidence that bath time takes places immediately after dinner.
I’ve been eyeing off a pair of black skinny jeans for Ollie since February but keep talking myself out of them as he doesn’t really need another pair of jeans thanks to Nanna Kaye’s shopping trips to Baby Gap in NY. But their are needs and there are wants. And I WANTED these jeans. So they finally came to live with us. The only problem is that Ollie hates putting jeans on. Can’t say why, perhaps because they feel a little cold when you put them on, but every time you try to dress him in them he carries on like they are made of acid. So do you think it would be an easy task getting skinny denim on him??? But it was worth the effort. He looks totally gorgeous in them. I love having a little fashion proxy to dress!!!
We went around to visit the newlyweds this afternoon as they have only just come home after a few extra weeks bumming around Bali. It was great to see them and get a chance to check out their beautiful wedding photos. We were lucky enough to have a few photos as a family taken by the photographer before the wedding kicked off. Here is one of them.
