Swim little fishy

We have a new super fish in the house!

Eve has had a great big 10 months off swimming lessons. Mainly due to my laziness. But thankfully it doesn't seem to have been a problem with her managing to advance to the next level on her third lesson back.

Even better was that she had her Pa and cousin Max there to cheer her on as she rang the champions bell. Then she had a little sook because it's a bit scary and loud and strange when a group of random strangers start clapping for you.

Nothing a celebratory milkshake and chocolate brownie couldn't fix. That could make anything better.

Look at these little cuties. We are currently rereading Charlie & the chocolate factory and the kids can't wait to see whether we read one, two or even three chapters before bedtime.

Their love of books continues to grow, with Ol saying the funniest thing the other night - "I just wish we had millions of dollars so we could buy all the books".

That kid's got his priorities right!

Food, friends and footy.

This week Ollie and I had a special visitor all the way from Cloncurry - our friend Jesse. Jesse came to play at Camp Ollie for a few hours while his mum had some very well deserved shopping time. Ollie and Jesse played lots of fun games like cups and Jesse was very helpful to me during the afternoon. Another exciting event this week was Nick and my third wedding anniversary. To celebrate we went to the lovely E'cco restaurant on Saturday night, thanks to Aunty Em who stayed over at our place to look after Ollie. Thankfully Ollie was on his best behaviour, as opposed to some of the other nights recently that have seen me popping into his room a number of times in the early hours of the morning. Ollie got to see his Aunty Em again the next day when we went over to the McNaughton/Dower home to celebrate Aunty Hayley's birthday and to catch up with Uncle Luke. Movieworld!

I told you last week that we had been busy having lots of fun around here and another of our fun activities (this time while Nanna Freddy was here) was a trip to Movieworld. But as I'm currently heat pressing fifty odd t-shirts for this weekend's big market, I am only able to make it to the computer in 40 second stints. It isn't that I'm worried about scorching the shirts, but the heat press has this dreadful tinky asian sounding song as the alarm on the timer and it really grates on my soul! And as I'm sure you can agree that there isn't a whole lot I can write in the time it takes me to run between the computer and the press (this paragraph has taken me five t-shirts!), this blog is going to be mainly pictures. Eve is 8: the birthday blog!

My youngest child is eight!! How can that be? Nearly three thousand days on this planet?? As I come to grips with this let me share with you some of the things I want to always remember about her at this age: - She has a crush. She wouldn’t tell me for ages who it was but Ollie knew and was sworn to secrecy which is super cute. Plus I knew pretty early on anyway thanks to her writing his name all around the place with love hearts around it. - She makes this makes this weird cat noise – like a hissing meow. It’s sometimes accompanied by a strange claw like gesture and usually when she doesn’t like something that you’ve done. Everyone who has ever heard it agrees that it’s REALLY annoying. Conversely she has a high pitched squeak like a guinea pig when she is happy about something. Basically she is just a small animal. - ...
