As Ollie has been so spoilt by all his family and friends, he has a lot of teddy bears. But until now he hasn't really taken much interest in them. Well that changed this week when he started playing with the brightly coloured bunny that his Aunty Alicia and Uncle Guy gave to him (it also came with a fetching matching hat which will look too cute in winter).
The bunny is nice and soft and its long limbs are just the right size for Ollie to grasp with his hands. Of course as soon as he grasps them, they go straight into his mouth - the bunny must be quite delicious. So far the bunny has been with us on a number of expeditions including to mother's group and to Indooroopilly shops where Ollie held the bunny beside him in his pram. It looked very gorgeous. But my favourite thing about the bunny is that it is machine washable - I suspect it might take many trips through the spin cycle, especially as it has already been dribbled and spewed on way too many times.
I've also included some pics of Nick bathing Ollie this week. You can see that Ollie has just about outgrown the baby bath that we use to bath him as we don't have a tub. Luckily Nick and Ollie have worked out that they can take showers together, but we still get the tub out every second day so Ollie can have a good splash around. He is so big now that he has to sit up and looks like a real big boy when he does. But despite being in the bath, Ollie still manages to find something i.e. Nick's hand to shove into his mouth!!
On the sleep front, we have had three blissful nights in a row now where Ollie has slept through the night. I'm not kidding - he goes down between 6-7pm and doesn't wake until 6-7am. I worked out that it actually started the first night he moved into his 2.5 tog (which means warmer) sleeping bag. I'm not sure if this is because he was too cold before, or because the bag is a bit long for him and I tuck it into the end of his cot, thus restricting his movement a bit. But it seems to be working so I'll just cross my fingers that it keeps happening.
Ollie's latest trick that he is working on is rolling over. So far he hasn't really done it properly but I was watching him in his cot earlier today and he kept kicking his legs up and then rolling himself onto his side. He hasn't made it all the way over but I suspect that when he eventually does he will get such a fright that he will no doubt let me know about it.
Thank you to Nanna Carmel who sent a care package to Ollie all the way from Qatar with some lovely winter clothes in it. They will come in very handy as it is quickly becoming quite chilly here during the nights and in the mornings. Of course the temperature hits the high 20s/early 30s by lunchtime, so we are getting very good at layering outfits.
