A week in film

We have been going to the library for about a year now. It is an amazing morning out with lots of singing and dancing, squealing and generally just tearing around and having a good time. Our main friend is Ollie's no. 1 girlfriend Ruby and her mum Rachel. They are the only people who get the library as much as we do. Thankfully too as everytime we turn up and we are making our way through the normally quiet foyer in the pram, Ollie insists on calling out "Rubeeeeeeee, Rubeeeeeee". I can't imagine how upset he would be if she wasn't there.

This week I thought I'd bust out the camera on my phone and I'm so glad I did as there was some absolute cinematic gold. Those two little tikes know how to turn on the charm. It is quite funny as each time we go there they are always a bit shy at first (despite both talking about how they will give the other one cuddles when they get there - cute). But by the end of it all they have both pushed their way right to the front and they are busting out the dance moves on the stage together. They totally steal the limelight and are the biggest groupies ever of Tim the guy who busts out the cool nursery rhymes. We like him because he injects a bit of mummy humour, talking about how work choices has impacted upon Old McDonald's Farm and the like. Plus he calls them ratbags. Usually a bit true! Ollie and Rubeeee just think he is great and I think Ollie is so lucky to have a friend like Ruby. They just love each other. Too too too cute.

Also this week we had the return of Nanna Carmel after many months away. Again Ollie pretended to be a bit shy but it wasn't long until he was giving her lots of kisses and cuddles. The occasion was Aunty Umma's 20th birthday lunch. We all gathered for the usual consumption of yummy food, although it was't flat meat, it still tasted damn good. Ollie won all of his Aunts and Uncles over yet again y saying their names and "lub you". Too sweet.

Food, friends and footy.

This week Ollie and I had a special visitor all the way from Cloncurry - our friend Jesse. Jesse came to play at Camp Ollie for a few hours while his mum had some very well deserved shopping time. Ollie and Jesse played lots of fun games like cups and Jesse was very helpful to me during the afternoon. Another exciting event this week was Nick and my third wedding anniversary. To celebrate we went to the lovely E'cco restaurant on Saturday night, thanks to Aunty Em who stayed over at our place to look after Ollie. Thankfully Ollie was on his best behaviour, as opposed to some of the other nights recently that have seen me popping into his room a number of times in the early hours of the morning. Ollie got to see his Aunty Em again the next day when we went over to the McNaughton/Dower home to celebrate Aunty Hayley's birthday and to catch up with Uncle Luke. Hayley cooked the wonderful family birthday tradition of Flat Meat (hard to describe but kind of like a thinner sc...

Movieworld!

I told you last week that we had been busy having lots of fun around here and another of our fun activities (this time while Nanna Freddy was here) was a trip to Movieworld. But as I'm currently heat pressing fifty odd t-shirts for this weekend's big market, I am only able to make it to the computer in 40 second stints.  It isn't that I'm worried about scorching the shirts, but the heat press has this dreadful tinky asian sounding song as the alarm on the timer and it really grates on my soul!  And as I'm sure you can agree that there isn't a whole lot I can write in the time it takes me to run between the computer and the press (this paragraph has taken me five t-shirts!), this blog is going to be mainly pictures. Ol loved the characters. But not as much as the rides.  He went on about 16.  Seriously. He wasn't a fan of the car driving ones as he just couldn't make them work properly.  His dodgem effort was basically just driving aro...

Eve is 10: the birthday blog

Double digits?? Say what?!?!?! Did I blink and miss the last decade of you being in my life? The little girl who came along and tipped my world it on it's head.  The little tornado of sweetness and light, chaos and bonkers, all wrapped into one perfect little human. To make sure I always remember you as you become a tween, here are some of the things about you that are special: - ABBA - I'm not sure where this obsession came from but you cannot get enough of them.  You have our spotify account jumping from one ABBA song to the next all day long.  Mamma Mia 1 and 2 (who knew there was a second one??) are your absolute favourite movies and you talk about the characters life you've known them for years. - You are doing an amazing job of music at school.  You are in your second year of fife and have joined the senior fife band where you had to memorise all of the songs so you could march in formation for your performances.  Your fife is usually not too far fr...
